My husband found this Grass Snake and brought it home for us to have a look at. We hadn’t actually seen a Grass Snake before; only SlowWorms, so this was quite exciting. We released him/her in our sheep field and watched until he went off into the bushes. Found him again in the garden the next day having had a somewhat large meal which had not long been swallowed. He did at first, play dead when handled, but then he seemed to get used to it, or humoured us, anyway.
